About the Recruitment
Central Bank of India, one of India’s oldest and largest nationalised banks, has released an apprenticeship recruitment notification for 4,500 vacancies across its branch network under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is a one-year fixed-term apprenticeship program — a good entry point into banking for fresh 12th-pass and graduate candidates.
⚡ Status: Applications Closed. The window (originally 22 June, extended to 28 June 2026) has now ended. If you already registered, your next step is the online exam — tentatively scheduled for the first week of July 2026. Watch the BEEP portal and Central Bank’s official site for your admit card.

Eligibility Criteria
Age (as on 1 January 2026)
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 28 years
- Relaxation: SC/ST (5 yrs) | OBC (3 yrs) | PwD (10 yrs)
Education
- Minimum qualification: 12th Pass (Intermediate) from any recognized board
- Graduate candidates are also eligible (and may be preferred for certain locations)
- Local language: Proficiency in the local language of the state where vacancy exists is mandatory
Other
- Must not be employed anywhere currently
- Not engaged in full-time education
- Must have a valid bank account (Aadhaar-linked)

Selection Process

No written examination. Selection is purely merit-based on academic marks.

What Apprentices Do
During the 1-year apprenticeship at Central Bank branches:
- Assist customers with account opening, cheque processing, and basic queries
- Data entry and documentation support
- Cash handling (under supervision)
- Learn banking software and processes
- Support digital banking onboarding for customers
Stipend & Benefits
- Monthly Stipend: ₹15,000 (fixed for the 1-year tenure)
- Apprenticeship is not a regular employment — no EPF, NPS, or gratuity
- Certificate of Apprenticeship Training issued on completion
- Experience certificate: Useful for future banking job applications (IBPS, SBI, RRB)
- Some banks prefer candidates who have completed apprenticeships for direct interview calls
After Apprenticeship
This is NOT a permanent job. After 1 year, apprenticeship ends. However:
- The experience and exposure significantly strengthen your profile for bank PO/Clerk exams
- Some candidates are absorbed as regular employees if vacancies exist (not guaranteed)
- IBPS and RRB recruitment processes give weightage to banking experience in interviews
- The bank may issue a reference letter that helps in future recruitment
