What Apprentices Do

During the 1-year apprenticeship at Central Bank branches:

  • Assist customers with account opening, cheque processing, and basic queries
  • Data entry and documentation support
  • Cash handling (under supervision)
  • Learn banking software and processes
  • Support digital banking onboarding for customers

Stipend & Benefits

  • Monthly Stipend: ₹15,000 (fixed for the 1-year tenure)
  • Apprenticeship is not a regular employment — no EPF, NPS, or gratuity
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship Training issued on completion
  • Experience certificate: Useful for future banking job applications (IBPS, SBI, RRB)
  • Some banks prefer candidates who have completed apprenticeships for direct interview calls

After Apprenticeship

This is NOT a permanent job. After 1 year, apprenticeship ends. However:

  • The experience and exposure significantly strengthen your profile for bank PO/Clerk exams
  • Some candidates are absorbed as regular employees if vacancies exist (not guaranteed)
  • IBPS and RRB recruitment processes give weightage to banking experience in interviews
  • The bank may issue a reference letter that helps in future recruitment
